Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance department in Liverpool . This role is critical for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting financial reporting. You will play a key part in month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and ad-hoc financial analysis. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform general ledger entries, journal postings, and account reconciliations.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assist with statutory reporting, tax compliance, and audits.
• Support the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting policies.
• Provide financial data and analysis to support management decision-making.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (UK GAAP/IFRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
