Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their finance department based in Leicester . This role is integral to the smooth financial operations of the company, offering a blend of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility. You will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure all balance sheet accounts are accurately reconciled and supported.
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis, providing insights to management.
• Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team .
