Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves managing a diverse portfolio of financial tasks, contributing to accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage general ledger functions, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with various teams.
