About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team, operating on a fully remote basis. This pivotal role will involve overseeing complex accounting tasks, contributing to financial strategy, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for the entire organization. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess strong analytical abilities, and thrive in a collaborative, virtual work environment. You will play a key role in supporting financial operations and driving process improvements from wherever you are based.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Oversee the general ledger functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.

Requirements

ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar senior accounting role, ideally within a UK-based company.
Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and financial reporting regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting .
