About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Actuarial Analyst to join their actuarial team in Edinburgh . This position is crucial for the company's financial health and strategic planning, focusing on pricing, reserving, and capital modeling for various insurance products. You will leverage advanced analytical techniques and actuarial principles to assess risk, develop financial models, and provide critical insights to senior management. The ideal candidate is a nearly or fully qualified actuary with extensive experience in the insurance industry , possessing strong technical skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
- Conduct analysis of financial results, identify trends, and provide recommendations to management.
- Support the development and pricing of new insurance products.
- Assist in the Solvency II and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with underwriting, risk management, and finance teams on strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior actuarial staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- Nearly or fully qualified Actuary (e.g., FIA, FSA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in actuarial science within the insurance sector.
- Strong proficiency in actuarial modeling software and data analysis tools (e.g., Prophet, R, Python).
- Deep understanding of insurance principles, regulations, and financial markets.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex information clearly in Edinburgh .
