About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and motivated Senior Actuarial Analyst to join their established team in Reading . You will play a critical role in risk assessment, pricing, reserving, and financial modeling for a range of insurance products. This position demands strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of actuarial principles, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Working within a collaborative environment, you will contribute significantly to the financial health and strategic decision-making of the company in Reading .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
- Analyze insurance data to identify trends, assess risks, and support strategic business decisions.
- Perform valuation of liabilities and estimate future financial outcomes for various insurance portfolios.
- Collaborate with underwriting, product development, and finance teams to provide actuarial support and expertise.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and internal management reports.
- Stay abreast of developments in actuarial science, software, and relevant regulatory changes.
Requirements
- Progress towards or completion of actuarial examinations (e.g., FIA, SOA).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an actuarial role within the insurance industry.
- Strong proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., SAS, R, Python, Prophet) and Excel.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
