Senior Agronomist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Agronomist to lead their agronomy services in the Cambridge area. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on crop production, soil management, and plant health to a diverse range of agricultural clients. This senior role involves developing strategic crop plans, conducting detailed field assessments, and mentoring junior agronomists. Your deep scientific knowledge and practical experience will be instrumental in optimizing yields, improving crop quality, and promoting sustainable farming practices across the Cambridgeshire agricultural community, working within a renowned agricultural research and innovation hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive crop management programs, including fertilization, irrigation, and pest/disease control strategies.
• Conduct in-depth soil analysis and provide recommendations for soil health improvement.
• Advise clients on the selection of appropriate crop varieties and planting techniques.
• Monitor crop performance and provide timely interventions to address issues.
• Mentor and guide junior agronomists and technical staff.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in agronomy and crop consulting.
• Extensive knowledge of plant physiology, soil science, and integrated pest management.
• Proven ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.
