About the Role

Our client seeks a highly knowledgeable and proactive Senior Agronomist to join their dynamic agricultural team based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is pivotal in providing expert advice and technical support to farmers and agricultural businesses, focusing on optimizing crop production, soil health, and sustainable land management. You will conduct field assessments, analyze data, and develop tailored recommendations to enhance farm profitability and environmental stewardship. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive soil and crop health assessments and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Develop integrated pest management (IPM) and nutrient management plans for various crops.
• Advise on seed selection, planting techniques, and cultivation practices to improve yield and quality.
• Stay abreast of the latest agricultural research, technologies, and regulatory changes.
• Deliver technical training and presentations to farmers, agronomists, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to research projects and trials aimed at developing new agricultural solutions.

Requirements

• A degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Agronomist or in a similar advisory role.
• In-depth understanding of crop physiology, soil science, and plant nutrition.
• Proven ability to analyze complex data and translate it into practical, actionable advice.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with precision agriculture technologies is a plus.
