Senior Agronomist

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly skilled and analytical Senior Agronomist to provide expert advice and strategic guidance on crop production and soil management for their extensive agricultural operations near Milton Keynes . This role requires a deep understanding of plant science, soil chemistry, and pest/disease management to optimize yields and ensure sustainable farming practices. You will play a key role in research, development, and implementation of cutting-edge agricultural technologies, contributing significantly to the farm's long-term productivity and environmental sustainability within Buckinghamshire . Key Responsibilities

• Conduct soil analysis and plant tissue testing to assess nutrient levels and identify potential deficiencies or issues.
• Develop tailored fertilization and crop protection strategies to enhance crop health and maximize yields.
• Research and recommend new crop varieties, cultivation techniques, and agricultural technologies.
• Provide expert advice to farm management on pest, disease, and weed control measures, prioritizing integrated pest management (IPM).
• Monitor field conditions, environmental factors, and crop development, documenting findings and making recommendations.
• Collaborate with research institutions and suppliers to stay abreast of the latest advancements in agronomy.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an Agronomist , with a strong track record in crop management.
• In-depth knowledge of soil science, plant physiology, entomology, and pathology.
• Experience with precision agriculture technologies and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate complex scientific information effectively.
