About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Air Traffic Controller to join their vital operations team in Leeds . In this demanding role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating air traffic safely and efficiently within a designated airspace, utilizing state-of-the-art radar and communication systems. You will play a crucial part in maintaining aviation safety, managing complex traffic flows, and responding effectively to dynamic operational situations. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the movement of aircraft on the ground and in the air to prevent collisions and ensure orderly, expeditious flow.
• Utilize radar, visual observation, and communication equipment to monitor aircraft positions and provide essential instructions to pilots.
• Coordinate with other air traffic control units, airlines, and emergency services to manage flight plans and respond to contingencies.
• Identify and report any safety deviations, operational issues, or potential hazards within the airspace.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior air traffic controllers, contributing to their professional development and adherence to protocols.
• Continuously monitor weather conditions and operational status, adjusting traffic management strategies as needed.

Requirements

• Valid Air Traffic Controller license with relevant ratings (e.g., Aerodrome, Approach, Area Control).
• Significant experience (7+ years) as an Air Traffic Controller in a busy control environment.
• Proven ability to remain calm, focused, and make critical decisions under high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and situational awareness skills.
• Thorough understanding of aviation regulations, procedures, and meteorological factors.
• Must pass rigorous medical and background checks.
