About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Airworthiness Engineer to join their esteemed team based in Sunderland . This hybrid role offers the chance to play a crucial part in ensuring aircraft meet rigorous safety and regulatory standards throughout their lifecycle. You will be responsible for assessing and certifying aircraft and component airworthiness, managing compliance documentation, and advising on all aspects related to flight safety. This position requires a deep understanding of aviation regulations and a proactive approach to maintaining the highest levels of safety in the aerospace domain, with opportunities to contribute both remotely and from our well-equipped facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess aircraft and component designs for compliance with national and international airworthiness directives and regulations.
- Manage and maintain comprehensive airworthiness certification documentation and records.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for airworthiness-related issues.
- Liaise with aviation authorities (e.g., EASA, FAA) to facilitate certification processes.
- Provide expert technical advice on airworthiness matters to design, manufacturing, and maintenance teams.
- Lead investigations into airworthiness incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in airworthiness engineering , aircraft certification, or a similar regulatory role within aviation.
- In-depth knowledge of EASA and FAA regulations and airworthiness standards.
- Experience with type certification, supplementary type certification, and continued airworthiness management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent report writing skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory requirements to diverse stakeholders in a hybrid work setting.
