Senior Analytical Chemist - Pharmaceutical Analysis

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Senior Analytical Chemist to join their quality control and pharmaceutical analysis department in Leeds . This role is instrumental in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products through rigorous testing and method development. You will be responsible for operating advanced analytical instrumentation, validating methods, and troubleshooting complex analytical challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using techniques like HPLC, GC, and MS.
• Perform routine and non-routine testing of pharmaceutical samples according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP).
• Analyze and interpret analytical data, troubleshoot instrumentation issues, and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare technical reports, method validation summaries, and documentation for regulatory submissions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior chemists in the laboratory.

Requirements

• MSc or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical chemistry, preferably within a GMP environment.
• Hands-on experience with various analytical instruments, including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and potentially mass spectrometry.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality systems in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
