Senior Analytical Chemist - Pharmaceutical QC

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Analytical Chemist to join their Quality Control department in Southampton . This role is essential for ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products through rigorous analytical testing and method validation. You will be responsible for overseeing routine testing, troubleshooting analytical challenges, and contributing to the development and validation of new analytical methods according to regulatory guidelines. Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and spectroscopy.
• Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods in accordance with ICH and other relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and maintain analytical instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
• Review and approve analytical data, specifications, and stability study protocols.
• Mentor and train junior analytical chemists, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and compliance.

Requirements

• A BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry (GMP environment).
• Extensive hands-on experience with various chromatographic and spectroscopic analytical techniques.
• Strong understanding of method validation principles and regulatory requirements (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
