About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Analytical Chemist to enhance their quality control and research capabilities in Derby . This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, purity, and stability of chemical products through rigorous analytical testing and method development. You will be responsible for operating advanced analytical instrumentation, validating methods, and troubleshooting analytical challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, and spectroscopy.
- Perform routine and non-routine testing of samples to assess purity, identity, and potency.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated analytical instrumentation, ensuring calibration and performance.
- Troubleshoot analytical problems and deviations, proposing and implementing corrective actions.
- Interpret analytical data, prepare detailed reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP).
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams to support product development and manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in analytical chemistry, preferably within the pharmaceutical, chemical, or related industry.
- Proficiency with a range of analytical techniques and instrumentation, particularly HPLC and GC.
- Strong understanding of method validation principles and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
