Senior Analytical Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Analytical Development Scientist to join their prestigious R&D centre in Cambridge . This role is instrumental in developing, validating, and transferring robust analytical methods crucial for characterizing pharmaceutical substances and products throughout their lifecycle. You will work with advanced instrumentation and contribute to critical decision-making processes for drug development and quality control. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and validate novel analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and drug products.
• Perform advanced characterization of drug substances and drug products using techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, and NMR.
• Investigate and troubleshoot analytical issues and out-of-specification results.
• Transfer analytical methods to Quality Control and other laboratories.
• Author and review method validation reports, technical reports, and regulatory submission documents.
• Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance within the analytical development team.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical method development and validation within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Expertise in a range of analytical techniques, particularly chromatography (HPLC, GC) and mass spectrometry.
• Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH) pertaining to analytical development.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to analytical challenges in Cambridge .
• Strong scientific writing and communication skills.
