Senior Analytical Scientist - Pharmaceuticals

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Scientist to join their pharmaceutical development team in Nottingham . This critical role involves developing, validating, and executing analytical methods for the characterization of pharmaceutical products and raw materials. You will work with a range of analytical techniques to ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of our client's innovative medicines. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods for the identification, quantification, and purity assessment of drug substances and finished products.
• Perform routine analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, GC, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy.
• Investigate and troubleshoot analytical method deviations and out-of-specification results.
• Author and review analytical method validation reports, technical reports, and regulatory submission documents.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with formulation development, quality control, and regulatory affairs teams to support product lifecycle management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical development and quality control.
• Strong expertise in chromatographic techniques (HPLC, GC) and their application in pharmaceutical analysis.
• Experience with method validation according to ICH guidelines and regulatory expectations.
• Proficiency in using analytical software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication abilities.
