Senior Animation Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Animation Supervisor to lead and inspire their talented animation team based in Manchester . This key role involves overseeing the quality, consistency, and artistic direction of animation across multiple high-profile projects. You will guide animators, provide constructive feedback, and ensure that all character performances and technical aspects meet the studio's exceptionally high standards, contributing significantly to the visual storytelling and appeal of their Arts & Entertainment offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of animators, providing artistic direction and technical guidance throughout the production pipeline.
• Ensure the quality, consistency, and artistic integrity of all animated sequences, character performances, and visual effects.
• Collaborate with directors and art leads to define and maintain the animation style and vision for projects.
• Conduct regular reviews of animation work, offering detailed and actionable feedback to improve performance and execution.
• Troubleshoot complex animation challenges and develop innovative solutions to technical and creative problems.
• Manage team schedules and workflow to ensure timely delivery of animation assets in a collaborative Manchester studio environment.

Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in 3D animation , with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional character animation skills and a deep understanding of motion principles.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender) and understanding of rigging and pipeline integration.
• Proven ability to guide and motivate a team of artists, fostering a collaborative and productive atmosphere.
• Excellent understanding of storytelling, cinematography, and visual composition within animation.
