Senior Animator (VFX)

About the Role

Our client is searching for a highly skilled and creative Senior Animator specializing in Visual Effects (VFX) to join their dynamic team. This role will involve bringing incredible motion and life to visual effects sequences for a range of exciting projects. You will work on-site in our Manchester studio and remotely, collaborating with a talented group of artists and technical directors to push the boundaries of visual storytelling. Your expertise in creating realistic and stylized animations will be crucial in delivering breathtaking visual experiences that engage and inspire audiences. This hybrid role offers a fantastic blend of collaborative in-studio time and the flexibility of remote work.

Key Responsibilities

• Animate complex visual effects, including particle systems, simulations (e.g., fire, smoke, water), and dynamic destruction.
• Collaborate with the VFX supervisor and art director to achieve the desired artistic and technical quality for all animated elements.
• Develop and refine animation techniques and workflows to improve efficiency and output quality.
• Work closely with TDs to integrate animations into simulation and rendering pipelines.
• Ensure all animated elements meet project deadlines and technical specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior animators within the VFX team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a VFX Animator in the film, television, or game industry.
• Strong understanding of animation principles and physics, with a proven ability to animate complex natural phenomena.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation and VFX software such as Maya , Houdini, Cinema 4D, and relevant renderers.
• Experience with particle systems and simulation software is essential.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.
• A strong eye for detail and a passion for creating visually stunning and believable effects.
