Senior Animator

About the Role

Our client is seeking an exceptional Senior Animator to join their award-winning animation studio in Newcastle upon Tyne . In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality character and environmental animations that bring our client's stories to life. You will work with a talented team of artists and directors, contributing to projects that reach a global audience. This is an ideal position for an experienced animator who is passionate about storytelling, pushing creative boundaries, and mentoring junior talent within a collaborative and innovative studio culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Animate characters, creatures, and objects with a strong sense of performance, weight, and timing.
• Collaborate with directors and storyboard artists to interpret scripts and develop animation styles.
• Create high-quality animation sequences for key scenes and character performances.
• Provide feedback and guidance to junior animators, fostering their technical and artistic growth.
• Ensure animation meets technical requirements and artistic direction for final delivery.
• Participate in animation reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of animation pipelines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in character animation for film, television, or games.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
• A strong understanding of animation principles , including motion, form, and acting.
• Experience with rigging and an understanding of how animation interacts with different character models.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• A portfolio showcasing exceptional animation reel and strong character performance.
