Senior Architect - Sustainable Building Design

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking architectural practice in Sheffield , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect specializing in sustainable building design . You will lead the design and development of environmentally conscious projects, from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with green building standards and innovative material use. This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of sustainable principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to inspire a team to create buildings that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also ecologically responsible and energy-efficient, contributing to a greener built environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for sustainable building projects, focusing on energy efficiency, material selection, and lifecycle impact.
• Develop design concepts, feasibility studies, and detailed architectural plans and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, planning regulations, and sustainable design certifications (e.g., BREEAM, LEED).
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to integrate sustainable solutions seamlessly into project delivery.
• Mentor junior architects and contribute to the firm's expertise in sustainable design practices.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Architecture (RIBA Part III or equivalent).
• Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience, with a significant focus on sustainable architecture.
• Demonstrated expertise in green building principles, technologies, and relevant software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
• Proven experience in managing complex architectural projects from inception to completion.
