Senior Auditor

About the Role

Our client is looking for an astute and experienced Senior Auditor to join their internal audit department, operating on a flexible, predominantly remote basis . This role is crucial for assessing and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across the organization. You will lead and execute audit assignments, identify areas of operational weakness or non-compliance, and develop practical recommendations for remediation. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and execute internal audit engagements across various business units and functions.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance structures.
• Identify control deficiencies, operational inefficiencies, and areas of non-compliance with policies and regulations.
• Develop clear, concise, and actionable audit reports with practical recommendations for management.
• Follow up on audit findings to ensure timely and effective implementation of corrective actions.
• Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business to facilitate audit process and promote a culture of control awareness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in internal audit, external audit, or a related risk management function, preferably within the financial services sector .
• Comprehensive understanding of auditing principles, risk assessment methodologies, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to present findings effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage audit projects independently and work effectively in a remote , collaborative team environment.
