Senior Automation Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automation Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team in Nottingham . This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work remotely while requiring on-site presence for key project milestones, client meetings, and site integrations. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing automated electrical systems for diverse industrial applications. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and specification of complex automation and control systems.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams for industrial machinery.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems from leading manufacturers.
• Specify and integrate industrial robots, drives, and motion control systems.
• Oversee on-site commissioning, testing, and validation of automation solutions, with remote support capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship to junior engineers, and client consultation.
• Ensure compliance with international safety standards and regulatory requirements for automation projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in industrial automation and electrical system design.
• Expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
• Deep understanding of industrial networks, robotics, and servo systems.
• Proven experience in project management and client-facing roles.
• Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities in a hybrid work environment.
