Senior Automation Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Automation Electrical Engineer to join their advanced manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of automation strategies and solutions for new and existing manufacturing processes.
• Design, program, and troubleshoot advanced PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems using industry-leading platforms.
• Oversee electrical aspects of robotic system integration, including safety circuits and communication protocols.
• Manage electrical engineering projects related to automation upgrades, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control panel designs, and comprehensive documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior automation engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508) and company policies.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Expertise in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) and HMI/SCADA development.
• Proven experience with industrial robotics, motion control, and vision systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles, panel layout, and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
