About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join their innovative team, supporting projects primarily within the Bristol region, but offering a fully remote working arrangement. You will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of automated systems and processes that enhance efficiency and productivity across various applications. This role requires a deep understanding of automation technologies, PLC programming, HMI development, and system integration. Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC and HMI systems for industrial automation.
- Develop and implement robotics solutions and integrated automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing automated processes to improve performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and develop solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases for automation projects.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all automation systems and software.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in programming major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI software.
- Experience with robotics integration and SCADA systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, effective for remote collaboration.
