Senior Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation applications.
• Implement and troubleshoot automated machinery and process control systems, ensuring seamless operation and minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical design and operations, to define automation requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis for automation failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for automation projects, including P&IDs, functional design specifications, and user manuals.
• Stay abreast of the latest automation technologies and industry trends, recommending and integrating new solutions to enhance efficiency and performance.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation engineering.
• Proficiency in programming major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA software.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control circuits, and industrial networks (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience with robotic systems and vision inspection systems is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the capacity to lead technical initiatives in Belfast .
