About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join their innovative team in Derby, Derbyshire . This role is key to designing, implementing, and maintaining automated control systems that drive efficiency and reliability across their operations. You will be responsible for developing PLC/SCADA solutions, integrating new technologies, and ensuring the seamless operation of automated processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation and a passion for leveraging technology to improve performance.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, program, and test PLC and SCADA systems for industrial automation applications.
Integrate various control system components, including sensors, actuators, and HMI systems.
Develop and implement robust control strategies to optimize process performance and efficiency.
Provide technical support for automation systems, including troubleshooting and system upgrades.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
Lead projects related to automation upgrades and new system implementations in Derby .

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
Proficiency with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and SCADA software.
Experience with robotics and advanced automation technologies is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
