Our client is looking for a highly creative and technically adept Senior Automotive Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Belfast . This role is central to the development of cutting-edge automotive components and systems, involving conceptualization, design, prototyping, and testing. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, to bring groundbreaking automotive solutions to life. Based in our client's state-of-the-art facility in Belfast , this position offers the opportunity to shape the future of vehicle design and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual design and development of new automotive components and systems.
- Utilize 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for detailed design and modeling.
- Conduct FEA simulations and performance analysis to optimize designs for strength, durability, and efficiency.
- Oversee the creation and testing of prototypes, providing technical guidance throughout the process.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are feasible for mass production.
- Document design specifications, test results, and engineering change notices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive design engineering.
- Expertise in 3D CAD modeling and simulation software (FEA, CFD).
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with product development lifecycles and project management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a passion for automotive innovation.
