About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join their reputable workshop in Leicester . This is a critical role where you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues in a wide range of vehicles. You will work within a well-equipped facility, utilizing cutting-edge diagnostic equipment and providing expert technical advice to both customers and junior technicians. This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of vehicle makes and models, contributing significantly to the team's success and upholding the highest standards of service quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on vehicle engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other components using sophisticated equipment.
• Interpret diagnostic data, technical manuals, and schematics to accurately identify faults and necessary repairs.
• Execute complex repairs and maintenance, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Provide clear and concise explanations of diagnostic findings and repair recommendations to service advisors and customers.
• Mentor and guide junior technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time taken.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Diagnostic Technician , with a strong track record of accurately diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or substantial industry experience.
• Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and manufacturer-specific software.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive electrical systems, CAN bus networks, and engine management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
• Valid UK driving license.
