About the Role

Our client is seeking an expert Senior Automotive Diagnostic Technician to lead their diagnostic bay in Sheffield . This position requires an individual with exceptional skills in identifying and resolving complex vehicle faults, particularly those related to electronic and mechanical systems. You will be the go-to person for challenging diagnostic problems, leveraging advanced tools and deep technical knowledge. This role is crucial for ensuring the high quality of repairs and customer satisfaction within a busy, professional automotive workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on all vehicle systems, utilizing the latest diagnostic equipment.
• Interpret complex diagnostic data and provide clear, actionable repair recommendations.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues related to engine management, emissions, ABS, airbags, and other electronic systems.
• Stay current with new vehicle technologies and diagnostic procedures.
• Mentor and support junior technicians with complex diagnostic challenges.
• Ensure all diagnostic work is accurately recorded and completed efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Automotive Diagnostic Technician .
• ASE certifications or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Expertise with a wide range of automotive diagnostic tools and software.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, CAN bus, and networking.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and logical diagnostic approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage diagnostic workload effectively.
