About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Automotive Diagnostic Technician to lead their diagnostic team in Reading . This pivotal role involves tackling the most complex vehicle faults, utilising advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. You will be responsible for accurately identifying issues across all vehicle systems, providing clear reports, and guiding other technicians. Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth diagnostics on engine management, electronic, and mechanical systems for a wide range of vehicles.
• Interpret diagnostic data, fault codes, and live sensor readings to identify root causes of issues.
• Recommend and carry out necessary repairs, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer standards.
• Conduct pre- and post-repair inspections and road tests to confirm solutions.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of vehicle technology and diagnostic advancements.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior diagnostic technicians.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or 4 qualification in Automotive Technology, with a strong focus on diagnostics.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience as a diagnostic technician.
• Expert proficiency with a variety of manufacturer-specific and universal diagnostic equipment.
• In-depth understanding of engine management systems, CAN bus, and other vehicle networks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A valid UK driving license with a clean driving record.
