Senior Automotive Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Automotive Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team in Manchester . This role is integral to the design, development, and integration of complex electrical systems within modern vehicles. You will play a key part in advancing vehicle electrification, connectivity, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Working in a hybrid model, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring cutting-edge automotive electrical solutions to life. We are looking for an expert with a deep understanding of automotive electrical architectures and a passion for innovation in the automotive industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical architectures for vehicle systems, including power distribution, wiring harnesses, and ECUs.
• Specify and select electrical components, ensuring compliance with automotive standards and performance requirements.
• Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and testing to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate electrical hardware with control software for various vehicle functions.
• Troubleshoot electrical system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in electrical engineering projects within the automotive domain.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in automotive electrical engineering .
• Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, ECUs, sensors, and actuators.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (e.g., Zuken E3.series, Mentor Graphics) and simulation software.
• Experience with automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet).
• Understanding of functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity principles in automotive applications.
