About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Belfast . This role is pivotal in the design, development, and integration of complex electrical systems for new vehicle platforms. You will lead critical projects, ensuring the seamless functionality and reliability of everything from power distribution to advanced driver-assistance systems. This position requires a deep technical understanding of automotive electrical architectures and a proven ability to manage challenging engineering tasks within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive electrical architectures, including wiring harnesses, power distribution systems, and component integration.
• Oversee the implementation and validation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with automotive standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (e.g., mechanical, software) to integrate electrical components seamlessly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues during vehicle development and testing phases.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and test reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in electrical system design and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in automotive electrical systems engineering .
• In-depth knowledge of automotive wiring standards, connectors, and components.
• Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., CAD, Zuken E3.series) and simulation tools.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and methods for electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of vehicle networking protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
