Senior Automotive Electrical Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Automotive Electrical Technician to join their busy workshop in Sheffield . This role is vital for diagnosing and repairing complex electrical faults in a wide range of vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems operate efficiently and safely, providing a high level of service to customers. As a senior member of the team, you will also provide guidance to junior technicians and contribute to maintaining the workshop's reputation for excellence in the automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex electrical and electronic faults in vehicles using advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Install and service vehicle electrical systems, including batteries, alternators, starters, and lighting.
• Perform diagnostic tests on electronic control units (ECUs) and related components.
• Ensure all electrical repairs are carried out efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
• Advise customers on the condition of their vehicle's electrical systems and recommend necessary repairs.
• Mentor and train junior technicians on best practices for electrical diagnostics and repair.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Electrical Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, CAN bus systems, and diagnostic procedures.
• Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and multimeters.
• Relevant automotive certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Auto Electrical and Electronic Systems).
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
