Senior Automotive Electrician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Automotive Electrician to join their reputable service centre in Southampton . This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing complex electrical systems and components in a variety of vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring all electrical repairs meet the highest standards of safety and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automotive electronics, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced workshop environment within the Southampton area.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults in vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, batteries, alternators, and starters.
• Install and troubleshoot advanced electronic systems such as infotainment, navigation, and driver-assistance technologies.
• Perform diagnostic tests using specialized electrical testing equipment and oscilloscopes.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior members of the electrical team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Electrician or technician with a specialization in electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures , CAN bus systems, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics accurately.
• Relevant qualifications in automotive electrical systems or equivalent experience.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
