About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair intricate automotive electrical faults, including wiring, lighting, starting, charging, and electronic control module issues.
• Interpret complex vehicle electrical schematics and diagnostic data to identify root causes.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters to test and analyze electrical systems.
• Provide expert remote technical support and guidance to other technicians and service advisors.
• Research and implement solutions for difficult or unusual electrical problems across various vehicle makes and models.
• Maintain detailed records of diagnostics performed, repairs completed, and parts used, ensuring high-quality documentation for Portsmouth and remote operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Electrician or equivalent specialist role, with a focus on diagnostics.
• In-depth understanding of automotive electrical systems, CAN bus, and electronic control units (ECUs).
• Proficiency with advanced diagnostic equipment, including oscilloscopes and multi-meter testing.
• Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and technical service bulletins.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous approach to fault finding.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
