Senior Automotive Electronics Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking leader in the automotive technology space, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Electronics Engineer to join their dynamic team in Glasgow . This role involves pioneering the development of advanced electronic control units (ECUs) and integrated systems that are vital for modern vehicle functionalities, including autonomous driving and advanced infotainment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test complex electronic circuits and systems for automotive applications, ensuring robustness and reliability.
• Define hardware requirements for ECUs, sensors, and actuators, working closely with software development teams.
• Perform detailed circuit simulations, analysis, and component selection to meet performance and cost targets.
• Oversee the prototyping and validation of electronic designs, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as AEC-Q100 and functional safety requirements (ISO 26262).
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers within the electronics design team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in automotive electronics design .
• Deep understanding of mixed-signal circuit design, microcontrollers, and power electronics.
• Proficiency with electronic design automation (EDA) tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence) and simulation software.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and diagnostic tools.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex projects effectively in a hybrid work structure.
