About the Role

Our client seeks a highly skilled Senior Automotive Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dedicated team in Manchester . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of automotive components and sub-systems from concept to production using CAD software.
• Perform detailed engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to validate designs.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing, and supply chain specialists.
• Create and maintain detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the design team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in automotive mechanical design, with a proven track record of successful product development.
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX).
• Strong knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes, and automotive DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles.
• Experience with engineering simulation tools (FEA, CFD).
• Excellent understanding of vehicle dynamics, powertrain, chassis, or body systems.
