Senior Automotive Quality Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Senior Automotive Quality Engineer to join their fully remote team, contributing to their operations in Manchester, England . You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust quality management systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with automotive standards like IATF 16949.
• Conduct internal and supplier audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement in quality processes.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve issues.
• Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving activities and root cause analysis for quality defects.
• Develop and oversee quality control plans, inspection procedures, and testing protocols for automotive components and assemblies.
• Train and mentor junior quality engineers and other team members on quality principles and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, specifically within the automotive industry.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA).
• Proven experience with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality analysis tools.
• Excellent auditing skills and experience in managing non-conformance and CAPA systems.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to remote collaboration.
