Senior Automotive Quality Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Automotive Quality Engineer to join their team near Cambridge . This role is critical in ensuring that all automotive products and processes meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will be responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and development. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of quality methodologies within the automotive sector and a passion for maintaining exceptional product standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO/TS 16949 standards.
• Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for quality issues and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to drive product and process improvements.
• Mentor and guide junior quality engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in a quality engineering role within the automotive industry.
• In-depth knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC).
• Experience with ISO/TS 16949 (or IATF 16949) standards and conducting audits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
