Senior Automotive Quality Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Automotive Quality Engineer to join their established, remote-first quality assurance team. This pivotal role involves ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability across all products and processes within the automotive supply chain. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise to impact product quality significantly from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with automotive standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
• Conduct internal and external audits to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and lead cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Develop and refine quality control procedures, inspection plans, and testing methodologies.
• Train and mentor junior quality engineers and other personnel on quality principles and practices.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to address quality concerns and ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the automotive industry.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management principles and tools (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC).
• Experience with relevant automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities, crucial for remote collaboration.
