About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced Senior Automotive Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Bristol . This role involves the high-level design, integration, and validation of complex automotive systems, such as powertrain, chassis, or electrical systems. You will lead projects, define system architectures, and ensure that all integrated components work harmoniously to meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Working within a hybrid model, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring cutting-edge automotive technology from concept to production, driving the technological advancements that define modern vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and manage the architecture and requirements for complex automotive systems.
• Oversee the integration of various subsystems (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software) ensuring seamless interaction.
• Develop and execute system validation and verification plans, including simulation and physical testing.
• Lead technical discussions and reviews with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Analyze system performance data and identify areas for optimization and improvement.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards, regulations, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in automotive systems engineering , with a strong track record in system design and integration.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive subsystems (e.g., powertrain, ADAS, infotainment, body electronics).
• Proficiency with systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., SysML, MBSE).
• Experience with simulation tools and validation techniques.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills suitable for a hybrid work setting.
