Senior Automotive Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Systems Engineer to join their team in Sheffield . This hybrid role will involve overseeing the design, integration, and validation of complex automotive systems, working collaboratively with various engineering disciplines. You will be instrumental in ensuring that systems perform optimally and meet all functional and performance requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Define system requirements, architecture, and interfaces for automotive systems, including powertrain, chassis, or body electronics.
• Lead the integration of various subsystems, ensuring seamless communication and functionality.
• Develop and execute comprehensive system validation and verification plans, including testing at component, subsystem, and vehicle levels.
• Analyze system performance data, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and mechanical engineers, to ensure successful system development.
• Manage system-level documentation, including specifications, test reports, and release documentation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in automotive systems engineering, with a strong focus on integration and validation.
• Proven expertise in systems engineering methodologies , requirements management, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
• Familiarity with automotive standards and protocols (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote and office-based responsibilities.
