Senior Automotive Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Systems Engineer to join their pioneering, remote-first product development team. You will be instrumental in defining, designing, and validating complex integrated systems for future automotive platforms. This role involves overseeing the entire system lifecycle, from requirements definition and architecture design to integration, testing, and issue resolution, all within a fully remote setting. You will work at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, driving innovation and ensuring the seamless operation of sophisticated vehicle technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and manage system requirements, specifications, and architecture for complex automotive systems.
• Lead the integration of various subsystems (e.g., powertrain, chassis, HMI, ADAS) ensuring seamless interaction.
• Develop and execute system validation plans, including simulation, HIL testing, and vehicle-level testing protocols.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve system-level issues, coordinating with relevant engineering disciplines.
• Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration and communication to ensure project alignment and timely delivery.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of system engineering processes and tools within a remote work culture.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering, with a strong track record of success.
• Deep understanding of automotive system integration, V-model development, and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama).
• Experience with systems modeling tools (e.g., SysML, MATLAB/Simulink) and simulation environments.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, crucial for effective remote collaboration in the automotive sector .
