Senior Automotive Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Systems Engineer to join their advanced engineering team in Wolverhampton . This hybrid role focuses on the architecture, integration, and validation of complex automotive systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. You will be a key player in defining system-level requirements, overseeing the design and development of interconnected subsystems, and driving innovation in vehicle technology. Key Responsibilities

• Define, manage, and decompose system-level requirements for automotive applications.
• Develop system architectures, ensuring integration and compatibility of various subsystems (e.g., powertrain, chassis, ADAS, infotainment).
• Lead the technical development and validation of automotive systems throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and testing engineers.
• Create and maintain system documentation, including interface control documents (ICDs) and FMEA analyses.
• Identify and mitigate system-level risks and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262).

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering, with a strong track record in system design and integration.
• Deep understanding of automotive architectures, including vehicle networking (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and diagnostics.
• Experience with systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., SysML, MBSE, DOORS).
• Proficiency in FMEA, FTA, and other risk assessment techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
