About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Automotive Systems Integration Engineer to join their advanced engineering team located in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK . This vital role focuses on ensuring the seamless integration and optimal performance of complex electronic and software systems within new vehicle architectures. You will work at the intersection of hardware, software, and vehicle dynamics, orchestrating the interactions between various subsystems to meet performance, safety, and reliability targets. This hybrid role allows for collaborative work at our Sunderland facility combined with remote working flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the integration of various automotive subsystems, including powertrain, chassis, body electronics, and infotainment systems.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for system integration, validating performance against defined requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, performing root cause analysis on complex system interactions.
- Define and manage system interfaces, ensuring compatibility and optimal data flow between components.
- Collaborate closely with domain-specific engineers (e.g., software, electrical, mechanical) to achieve cohesive system functionality.
- Document integration strategies, test results, and system specifications meticulously.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive systems engineering and integration.
- Strong understanding of automotive architectures and the interactions between different vehicle domains.
- Proficiency with systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., Model-Based Systems Engineering, SysML).
- Experience with automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
- Familiarity with testing and validation processes for automotive systems.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Automotive, Electrical, Computer Science) or a related field.
