About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Automotive Technician to join their busy workshop in Leicester . You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to the highest standards. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent diagnostic capabilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. You will work as part of a dedicated team, contributing to the workshop's reputation for quality and reliability in the Leicester area, and play a key role in mentoring junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on various vehicle makes and models, including engine, transmission, braking, and electrical systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid checks according to manufacturer specifications.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and tools to identify faults and determine necessary repairs efficiently.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, adhering to safety regulations and company procedures.
• Advise customers on vehicle condition, repair requirements, and potential future maintenance needs.
• Mentor and guide junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a qualified Automotive Technician, with a focus on diagnostics and complex repairs.
• Relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications in Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools and equipment specific to the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, engine management, and mechanical components.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• A valid UK driving licence is essential.
