About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Test Engineer to join their innovative team in Bristol . You will lead the development and execution of comprehensive test strategies for automotive electronic systems and components, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, safety, and reliability standards. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, enabling you to combine focused work from home with collaborative sessions at our state-of-the-art facilities. You will be instrumental in validating cutting-edge automotive technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed test plans, procedures, and test cases for automotive electronic systems.
- Design and build automated test frameworks and scripts to enhance testing efficiency.
- Conduct functional, performance, integration, and regression testing of ECUs and related software.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Manage and maintain test equipment, including HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) systems.
- Mentor junior test engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive testing , with a focus on electronic systems and embedded software.
- Proficiency with HIL systems (e.g., dSPACE, NI) and test automation tools.
- Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and diagnostic standards.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, CAPL) for test automation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
