Senior Automotive Test Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Senior Automotive Test Engineer to join their advanced engineering team in Liverpool , operating under a hybrid work model. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans for automotive systems and components, ensuring they meet rigorous performance and safety standards. This role requires a deep understanding of testing methodologies, instrumentation, and data analysis to validate complex vehicle technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop test strategies and procedures for automotive hardware and software components.
• Set up and operate various testing equipment, including dynamometers, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems.
• Execute test plans, analyze test results, and generate detailed reports on performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects and performance issues found during testing.
• Collaborate with design and development teams to resolve identified issues and improve product quality.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience as a Test Engineer within the automotive industry.
• Proficiency with data acquisition systems, sensors, and testing instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems and components.
• Experience with test automation and scripting is a plus.
