Senior Automotive Test Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Automotive Test Engineer to lead testing activities for their vehicle systems in Wolverhampton . In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing a wide range of tests to ensure the performance, reliability, and safety of automotive components and vehicles. You will work with state-of-the-art testing equipment and methodologies, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes. This is a key position for someone passionate about automotive validation and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures for automotive systems and components.
• Conduct various tests, including performance, durability, environmental, and functional testing.
• Operate and maintain sophisticated testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Analyze test data, interpret results, and generate detailed technical reports.
• Identify potential issues and collaborate with design and engineering teams to find and implement solutions.
• Mentor junior test engineers, providing guidance and technical support.
• Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience as an Automotive Test Engineer , with a proven track record in test planning and execution.
• Proficiency with data acquisition systems and automotive testing equipment.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems, components, and relevant testing standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
