About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Automotive Test Engineer to join their cutting-edge facility in Southampton . This role is central to validating the performance and reliability of automotive systems and components. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing test procedures for a variety of automotive applications, working with state-of-the-art testing equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our products meet the highest industry standards for safety, efficiency, and durability. This is a hands-on role that requires your presence on-site to work directly with the testing infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive test plans and protocols for automotive systems and components.
- Execute tests on physical hardware and simulated environments, meticulously recording results.
- Analyze test data, identify performance bottlenecks or defects, and provide detailed reports with recommendations.
- Collaborate with design and development engineers to troubleshoot issues and validate fixes.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and laboratory facilities.
- Contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive testing and validation.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, electronics, and embedded software.
- Proficiency with test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW).
- Experience with data acquisition systems and analysis software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
